This is my teapot and one of my four my cups. It's a star fish themed tea set. The tea pot took me a while to complete. For some reason I had a hard time doing a double pinch. For the cup, I used the slab method and then rolled it up and added a foot on the bottom. The star fish was suppose to be the handle for the cup, but I made the cups too small and I needed the star fish to fit. I like the way it looks though, it's cute.

 Besides the flower on my slab everything came out okay. I wanted to color the stampings the way you see flowers and leaves in real life. I had hard time glazing the blue and yellow on though. I painted it on so every time I added another coat the first coat would rub off with the brush. Doing different colors on one piece takes up a lot of time.

Slab Work

This is my slab work and I also love this one because of the stamping. I wanted a different shape so I decided to do a three sided one. I stamped on plumeria leaves, but it wasn't too thick so I traced it out and the leaves I chose are coconut leaves which I love. I also stamped the coconut leaves under the plumerias just so it doesn't seem blank on the bottom and I think it came out great. The difficult part was putting the pieces together after cutting them so I needed assistance with that, but overall  I had fun making this and would love to start using it around the house.

Pretty Coil Pot

                 

 

This here is my before and after picture of my coil. This is my favorite piece just because I didn't have to worry about my piece being smooth or not. I also like the round coils in the middle of the piece and the twist at the end. It was fun and easy making this piece the only difficult part was actually making the coils. I started with my hands at first, but the thickness never came out the way I wanted it. With the glazing part, I poured the glazed inside and then hand painted on the glaze on the outside.

Double

  This is the out come of my glazed double pinch. I decided to add the holes instead of stamping because I wanted something different. I also added the coils in not long after our instructor taught us how to make coils. The top part of this pot I mixed in two glazes together giving me that star blue color look.

 

 

      This is my double pinch. I haven't cut the holes out yet. This was easier to make after doing my pinch pot. The only challenge for me was to make sure I make the two pots the same size so when I put it together it balances out.





Glazed Pinch Pot

This is the outcome after my first glaze attempt for my first pinch. I glazed the names in a white color, but it is barely shown. I think it's because of the thickness of the blue green glaze I put over it. My first time glazing was difficult especially the inside because when I try to cover all the clay color the glaze would over lap causing it to be thick.

For my first pinch pot I made a small bowl. I had a hard time deciding how to decorate it, so I did something simple and wrote my families name. I think it's okay for my first time, definitely learned more after making this one.
